What to expect

When people begin therapy, they often have questions and anxieties about what the process will be like. Typically we will begin by discussing the issues and emotions that you would like to address in therapy, and I will take some time to get to know you better and get a fuller picture of who you are and what your goals are in initiating therapy. After an initial assessment period we will develop a treatment plan that outlines specific goals we will work on together, and every so often we will touch base regarding those goals and our progress on them.

 

I like to hold a free 15 minute phone consultation prior to our intake session, to ensure we are a good fit for one another so that you are getting the most out of therapy. If we decide to move forward with an intake session, I will send you paperwork to be filled out prior to or during our intake session which will be 60 minutes long. After our intake session, sessions range between 45-60 minutes.
